Racially-Affirming Outpatient Mental Health Services

FamilyCT is now providing Racially-Affirming Outpatient Mental Health Services supporting children 4-18 and their families who identify as Black, Indigenous, Latino/a, Asian, multi-racial or any other racial identity of color. This innovative and revolutionary program aims to create a safe and uplifting mental health space for youth and family to work towards specific child and family identified goals within a framework that supports a deeper understanding of the physical, mental, emotional, and interpersonal impact of systemic racism and urban trauma.

Services include individual and family therapy with clinicians trained in Dr. Maysa Akbar’s Urban Trauma Certification® and Dr. Stephen Kniffley’s Racial Trauma Therapy Model. FamilyCT is a member of the Urban Trauma Provider Network where clinicians receive ongoing training, coaching, and support to better meet the needs of the families and community we serve.
